War on White

I noticed something after this afternoon’s Apple “The Beat Goes On” event in S.F.: as of today, Apple no longer makes a white iPod. The icon of fashionable technology for nearly the past six years is dead. Personally, I always liked what Apple had done with white, but I suppose aluminum is the new white.

  1. Apple seems to be going with all (or nearly all) metallic cases for the iPods, now. This probably is as practical as it is for changing fashion. The plastic (Lexan?) skin of previous iPods was notoriously scratchable.

  2. The new iPod design along with the new iMac design makes you wonder what the next generation of MacBooks will look like.

  3. Well, I was thinking of the new iMac and iPhone with all the black glass, and polished and matte aluminum.
