Your Mother Wears Lumberjack Boots

My mom informed me a couple of days ago that she got certified in chainsaw safety at the park last week. No, she’s not planning on taking up logging as a new career path. She wanted to be versed in how to use one in case of an accident out in the park and she would need to cut a tree to free someone. Now that’s being prepared for any situation.

  1. I didn’t know such a certification existed!

  2. I gathered that it was for National Park Service empolyees only. I think it’s just for being allowed to operate a chainsaw while on park duty. I doubt it carries any weight outside the NPS.

  4. This is really cool Jason. Thanks for the idea. Meg said she wanted to use the chainsaw. I told her she needed to take the certification course first. I am still waiting for the certificate.
