Your Mother Wears Lumberjack Boots

My mom informed me a couple of days ago that she got certified in chainsaw safety at the park last week. No, she’s not planning on taking up logging as a new career path. She wanted to be versed in how to use one in case of an accident out in the park and she would need to cut a tree to free someone. Now that’s being prepared for any situation.

  1. I gathered that it was for National Park Service empolyees only. I think it’s just for being allowed to operate a chainsaw while on park duty. I doubt it carries any weight outside the NPS.

  2. That’s really cool…How many mom’s are certified in chainssaw safety! (Not enough)

  3. This is really cool Jason. Thanks for the idea. Meg said she wanted to use the chainsaw. I told her she needed to take the certification course first. I am still waiting for the certificate.
